Welcome to a NEW school year! I am honored and equally excited to be your principal. When I walked in the building 16 years ago, the floors were concrete and the walls were not painted. Now our floors have scuff marks and the walls are still settling. This school year begins my 24th year as an educator. I taught first grade prior to coming to Lakeland as an Assistant Principal. I am a true blue graduate of the University of Memphis and I earned both of my graduate degrees from Union University. My husband is a Shelby County Schools principal, so as you can see education runs through our blood. I, also, have two sons. My older son is a senior in college and my younger son is in high school. My my how time flies, because they both were students here from K through 5th grade. Our goal at LES is to provide an enriching, engaging, and challenging curriculum that will prepare students for a successful school year. Your children are extremely important to our faculty and staff as we nurture and support them socially and emotionally as well as excel them academically. I look forward to meeting ALL of our new lions and welcoming back our returning lions.

It is an honor to be a part of the administrative team at Lakeland Elementary School! I am excited to work with such a dedicated staff, supportive parents, and an involved community. This school year begins my 15th year in education. Prior to joining the Lakeland family, I worked at Bartlett City Schools and served in Student Services where I was involved in numerous areas of student support including homebound, discipline, and district level registration. I also served as a member of the discipline hearing authority for the district. I have taught at Germanshire Elementary and Bon Lin Middle School for legacy Memphis City and legacy Shelby County Schools. I am a graduate of Tennessee State University, University of Memphis and Bethel University. I am currently working on my Ed.D in Educational Leadership from Trevecca Nazarene University. My greatest accomplishment is my family. My husband and I have three wonderful children. My oldest son will be in high school, while my two younger children will be in elementary.
It is my hope that through collaboration with parents, staff, and our community, we will continue to have high expectations for all of our students and continue an academic program that promotes rigor and complexity. I look forward to greeting all of our new and returning Lakeland Lions. It is a privilege for me to be part of their learning.

Greetings, Lions! It is an honor to join the Lakeland Elementary School family! LES has a reputation around Shelby County and west Tennessee for academic excellence and building relationships with students and their families. I’m humbled and thrilled by the opportunity to continue this tradition! The 2017-18 school year marks my eighteenth year in education! I am originally from Martin, Tennessee. I completed my Bachelors and Masters degrees in education through the University of Tennessee at Martin. My teaching career began in Martin as well, but after a few years, I decided to leave my small town for the big city! Since that move, I taught for legacy Shelby County Schools at Dexter and Bartlett Elementary schools. I also served as an interim assistant principal and Title I Facilitator for those schools respectively. For the past three years, I have served as an Assistant Principal at Crosswind Elementary in Collierville. My husband, Adam, and I will celebrate our fourth anniversary this year. We have a two year-old little boy, Tucker, who will make a great Lion in a few years!I look forward to getting to know the Lakeland community and supporting an already excellent school!
